The Hotel Burlington was great with a lot of Victorian charm. Only problem was the beds were like sleeping on a concrete floor

The hotel was a splendid building, the room very large with a view to the sea. The Leas on Folkstone front were a lovely place to walk which we did several times, we found a nice pub near the old church where we had both our evening meals- we drove to Hastings & Rye and travelled the whole return distance on the hythe light railway, we wished we had booked another night as the trip was so pleasant

We have stayed at this hotel previously and find it adequate, easy to find and reasonably convenient for our use, on this occaision with our grandson, the room was nice and large giving us plenty of room.

On day one we visited the White Cliffs visitors centre and did the walk to St.Margaret's bay which was amazing. We had a fantastic view of the French coast line. The visit to the lighthouse was very informative as our guide was very knowledgeable and explained the war period well. On day 2,we went to Boulogne for the day. The close proximity to the channel tunnel was very convenient and is an extremely efficient service. Boulogne was a great place to visit, particularly the Old Town and Nausicca sealife centre.

Only chose Folkstone because it was short notice and it was the only hotel in the area that would take the dog. It was a pleasure to stay at the Burlington, great customer service. The breakfast was poor but overall most enjoyable.

This was an excellant day out. The underground tunnels where the second world war operations were planned was very interesting. It was a shame that the underground hospital was closed for renovations. The overall visit was exceedingly pleasurable with so much to see.
