London Theatre

See the musical Wicked if you can-a great postmodern retelling of the Wizard of Oz's Witch's story, but from her own perspective. I hesitated to go at first, but it was great fun and the singing was of a high calibre . Really enjoyable night!

The London Eye

We had fun on this-the 4th tallest structure in London...it provides stunning views over central London (and up to 25 miles away when it's nice out) but goes so slowly, you don't even feel it moving...Each trip lasts about a half hour, which sounds a lot, but is over quickly!

Children's shops in London

Hamley's is the famous children's toy shop on the prestigious Regent Street in central London-it's a sprawl on many floors and you won't know what to play with first! Prices are sometimes dearer than other toy shops, but you're paying for the experience too!

Museum of Childhood in London

In Bethnal Green (East London) you'll find the Bethnal Green Museum of Childhood-it's a wonderful place for children to explore, take part in activities and get them to talk about history without them knowing it (as all the old toys around them will stimulate them to do)! It's not stuffy... it's fun (and free)! Their new exhibition is all about fairy tales and myths...a lovely place!

SuttonHouse in Hackney, London

Visit Sutton house (Hackney, East London) for it's rich history-it's a beautiful Tudor Manor home and they'll be celebrating Black History month too, until the end of November 2009. The people are lovely-regular staff mix with commited volunteers...Here you can experience the lives of eight significant black women and men in this inspiring environment!

There's also a trail for children ... and music and recordings of actors playing parts of Mary Seacole and Oluadah Equiano. The last Sunday of every month they host a Family Fun Day which is free- with lots of themed activities for children, too. There's a very small cafe and shop on site. It's a great place for families to visit!

Rotten Row (I love that name), in London's Hyde Park, has been the most famous equestrian venue in England for 300 years. There are five miles of bridleways in Hyde Park beside the Serpentine Lake, a beautiful setting for riding! Try it out! I had a lovely mare and had great fun!
